Memory

Disappearing Ink

Legendary memories
Everyone owns some,
Great things happening
Some of them dumb,
That’s how it is
In the memory game,
Why we remember?
It’s not all the same.

Embarrassment, often
Is the trigger,
Something was small
We claimed it was bigger,
Or, I said I was studying
But then, I failed the test,
Police raided the party
Where I was a guest.

Memorable moments
At the time, seem colossal,
May dissolve into dust
When you’re old as a fossil,
That’s how life is
Funny, don’t you think?
Memories fading
Like disappearing ink.
